Reflection

Done with the job. It was a challenge at first but thanks to Cheryl W. for assiting and guiding me in the whole process.
There are a lot of materials that I may use and apply to my classes. Skype and Wiki are great for tutorials with me and/or within the students.
Technology is becoming a useful tool in our educational system. It is good that we have the means to update ourselves with this tool.

Tool 11- Digital Citizenship

With an increased use of technology thus school year, I would like my students to understand to be skillful in the use of technology as a great resource, observe digital ethics and avoid plagiarism.They also need to be aware of how to protect their identity when using the web.

Tool 10- Apple APPs

Here are some apps that could be used in the math classes:
1- The scientific calculator app;
2- Math Ref  (algebra);
3- ActivStat;
4- Fathom is very useful in statistical analysis problems.

Tool 9- Jing and Skype

Jing and Skype may be effective instruments to use when conducting off-campus and/or night and weekend tutorials or those times when I am off-campus. Students may use these programs to work on projects, discuss homework assignments and during study groups. (Skype could be used to contact others no matter where they are living or visiting.)

Tool 8- Video Resources

The first video is about finding the derivative of a function.



The second video is about using the chi-squared goodness of fit test.

Tool 7- Digital Storytelling

This is a sample of how my students may create a video presentation on the project, assignment or homework.

Tool 6- Wiki

Students may use Wiki when they work on their projects, assignments and during study groups.

Tool 5- Tags and Bookmarking

Diigo is the site I choose to use. It saves highlighted sections to access later. These can be shared with others.

Tool 4- Google Tools

These two tools from google help make the collection of ideas simple. The easy access to reference pages guides the students simplify their work. Students can easily contribute to the final product of a project or an assignment while being monitored.

In trying to use google docs, you can create a document to share and  upload documents. As of the moment, I tried to upload severail documents from school desktop but all uploads failed. I will work on creating a document within google docs that I will share with my school.

Tool 3- Image Generator

I used Spell with Flickr and Image Chef to create the two images for this tool.
My students may be able to use these tools in creating an end of the year project.

Tool 2- PLN

1. I may participate in PLN for the courses that I teach.
2. The comment should be short but clear and concise...online ethics must be observed and used all the time.
3. These are the 5 blogs I commented on: N. Blasingame, K. Arbuckle, C. Wegsheid, S. Wegsheid amd S. Elmore.

Tool 1- Getting Started

Creating my blog was not easy. Setting up accounts in all the different programs with different usernames and passwords was a challenge...and I am an organized person!

I do not see the need for my students to use the Voki in the courses that I teach, especially the upper level senior year math classes.
